POLICIES AND GUIDELINES

  1. Any animal adopted from ISA is to receive quality care. Adopters must provide and ensure a safe, pleasant, nurturing, and loving environment. Animals are not to be adopted as gifts or used for experimentation, laboratory research, fighting, or commercial use.

  2. The animal is to be loved and given attention for the duration of its life.

  3. The animal must always have available fresh and clean water and quality food at least twice a day.

  4. The animal will not be crated, leashed, or tied for prolonged durations of time. Animal must be allowed to roam free. The area should be clean, ventilated, enclosed, and with proper heating and cooling.

  5. The animal must be given daily exercise and playtime, in addition to regular socialization with people.

  6. All members of the household must participate in the animal's care. All children in the household must know how to properly take care of and interact with the animal.

  7. The animal is to be treated as a family member.

  8. A leash should be used when taking the animal out for a walk or in an unsecure area.

  9. You must have appropriate funds to cover the cost of animal expenses throughout its entire lifespan, which include food, supplies, veterinary care, etc.

  10. You must provide a collar with identification tags at all times, preferably in addition to microchipping.

  11. Spay or neuter the animal unless contraindicated.

  12. The animal should not be allowed to roam the streets unsupervised.

  13. Adopter must provide quality veterinary care including preventative healthcare. Injuries and illnesses must be addressed as soon as possible. 

  14. Vaccinations must be kept to date.

  15. ISA reserves the right to conduct regular surprise home visits to ensure the animal’s welfare and in accordance with our adoption terms and agreement.

  16. Prospective adopter must fill out an application and agree to a personal interview with our adoption specialist. 

  17. Prospective adopter, including children, will be asked to meet with the animal prior to adoption to ensure a good match.

  18. Adopter must sign and abide to the terms of our adoption contract.

  19. Adoption fee is non-refundable.

  20. Contact and return animal immediately to ISA if at any future time the adopter is unable to care for the animal or if it is not being properly cared for. Do not abandon, give away, or surrender the animal to anyone else. We will help re-home the animal. 

  21. ISA is not responsible for any future medical treatment of the animal or for any damages to person or property caused by the animal.

  22. Adopter must comply with all state and local laws and ordinances relating to the keeping of the animal.​

  23. You must be 21 years old or older with a valid photo issued state ID to adopt.

  24. You must have written permission from your landlord to adopt.

  25. Adopted animals must be taken home with a collar, on a leash or in a carrier.

ISA Animal Rescue adopts animals to the first most qualified applicant. A hold form must be completed if requested.

​

Our plan for the future is to have all animals rescued by ISA vetted and treated for any health conditions, rehabilitate those with aggressive or behavioral issues, be spayed or neutered, and given initial vaccinations.

Privacy Policy

ISA will not share any of your personal information with anyone without permission. All information is collected on a secure server. Information collected from you will be only used by ISA so that we can keep you informed about the organization.
